Sax to the Max with Gerard McChrystal and Ruth McGinley

FLive welcomes the sensational saxophonist and Derry man, Gerard MCChrystal, to perform at this year’s festival. This is his first performance in Fermanagh and we can assure audiences they will be delighted and amazed at this guy’s engaging skill, style and eclectic mix of music genres. A graduate of RNCM, and, having earned a Masters degree in Chicago, has gone on to perform in all the major concert halls worldwide and made 15 recordings with other sax players such as The Bros Quartet, as well as singers like Anuna, Codetta and guitarist Craig Ogden. He wowed his home audience at the Derry/Londondery City of Culture in 2013 and he will be accompanied at this concert by another Derry talent, Ruth McGinley, a long established virtuoso pianist and accompanist who is a stand alone artist appearing with such well known artists as The Three Priests. She has performed as soloist with orchestras including the BBC Philharmonic, London Mozart Players, The National Symphony Orchestra. She also teaches and mentors young musicians and loves to collaborate with other musicians, hence this coming together with Gerard for this special concert ‘SAX TO THE MAX’ after having performed a 20 minute programme for last year’s ‘A taste of FLive ‘ an on-line blast for FLive 2021. Those who heard that last year, will want to hear them again live and for those who missed that on-line cameo, they will be assured of a fantastic and breathtaking live event. They will play virtuosic and beautiful music reflecting Ireland and Australia, with some dazzling variations on Carmen’s detour to Paris. They will also perform their hit piece from 2013 City of Culture opening concert Sons and Daughters and much much more.

Come and join us for an unforgettable afternoon in the gorgeous and atmospheric Methodist Church, Darling Street, Enniskillen.
