Monday 16th September, 7.30pm, Enniskillen Castle Museums

Artist, Rita Duffy, will be speaking at Enniskillen Castle Museums, Fermanagh, at 7.30pm on Monday 16 September. Her artwork The Security Barrier (1983) features in the Ulster Museum’s touring exhibition Troubles Art. A member of Aosdana, Ireland, an Honorary Member of the R.S.U.A. and an associate at the Goldsmiths College, London, Duffy is currently working on an artistic exchange with post conflict societies in South America. Her work, in which she uses a range of media, is often autobiographical and addresses subjects relating to Irish identity, history, politics and feminism.

The Troubles Art exhibition features works from the Ulster Museum collection by artists from Northern Ireland and beyond who have responded to the conflict through their artistic practice. It is presented as part of the Making the Future project, which will explore the legacy of the past and aims to empower people to create a vision for future change. Troubles Art will be on display at Enniskillen Castle Museums until Saturday 14 December 2019.
