When word reached FLive about the exceptional talents of French organist NykkÖ Grégoire, now based in the UK, no time was lost in engaging him to appear at this year’s festival. Born in 1979 the charismatic multi-instrumentalist/composer studied organ, harpsichord and ondes Martenot at the music conservatory in Bordeaux. He also plays cello, duduk (Armenian wind instrument) and Bawu  (Chinese flute). As well as a full calendar of tour dates in Europe, South East Asia and America, NykkȌ works with various choirs and theatre ensembles. At the organ in St. Macartin’s cathedral he will present a varied and entertaining programme of Bach and Vivaldi, Cesar Franck and Jeremiah Clarke, Klezmer music and arrangements of popular European and British folk songs.
